The City of Chaska Community Development Department would like to extend to you an invitation to attend an upcoming Open House. The purpose of the Open House is to gather your input and have a discussion surrounding ideas, opportunities and concerns for the design of the Downtown Core Streetscape (2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Streets, including Pine, Chestnut & Walnut Streets).
The scope of the project is to stay within the public right-of-way and publicly-owned open spaces in the Historic Downtown Core. The result of this project will provide design direction on the following components:
• Pedestrian, amenity, travel, and parking zones of streets
• Hard surface features – sidewalks, curbs, crosswalks, plazas, walls, alleys, etc.
• Landscape features – trees, planting beds, irrigation, etc.
• Grading, drainage, and stormwater management opportunities
• Lighting - street and pedestrian
• Street furnishings – seating, trash receptacles, bike racks, ornamental railings, bollards, etc.
• Signage – street, historic district, and wayfinding
• Public art opportunities
The Open House will be held on the evening of Thursday, August 7th, 6-8 p.m., in the Council Chambers at Chaska City Hall (One City Hall Plaza, Downtown Chaska).
If you should have any questions, please contact Kevin Ringwald, Community Development Director at 952-448-9200.
Your involvement in this Open House is welcomed and appreciated!
